Let me read you some of my poetry. My poetry just takes me to another level.

The mystic purchases a moment of exhilaration with a lifetime of confusion and the confusion is infectious and destructive. It is confusing and destructive to try and explain anything in terms of anything else poetry in terms of psychology.

I don't look on poetry as closed works. I feel they're going on all the time in my head and I occasionally snip off a length.

1 Age

  • 1. There is an anti-aging possibility but it has to come from within.
  • 2. It is not classified as a pagan religion. The so-called New Age activities and this are not called religions and therefore don't come under the prohibition of mingling church and state that we have in this country.
  • 3. We grew up in a very creative environment and were exposed to the arts at a very young age so it's not a surprise that all of us are in some form of the arts.

2 Amazing

  • 1. I like making films about old people because they are repositories of amazing stories that they tell well. And they're incredibly good telly.
  • 2. You go through at least the first two years of Star Trek and you find some amazing stuff. Everything that was going on Gene put into the series. He just put strange costumes on the actors and painted them funny colours and left the same situation in.
  • 3. I had an amazing childhood.

3 Anger

  • 1. Generalised anger and frustration is something that gets you in the studio and gets you to work – though it's not necessarily evident in anything that's finished.
  • 2. I was shocked at the anger toward me.
  • 3. Wars spring from unseen and generally insignificant causes the first outbreak being often but an explosion of anger.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. I've been in love with the same woman for forty-one years. If my wife finds out she'll kill me.
  • 2. We had a relationship that lasted 44 years. Herbert and I lived together 10 years before we were married. He always gave me a little heart for whatever anniversary.
  • 3. But to sustain a marriage for 50 years you have to get real a little bit and find someone who is understanding and who you can grow with. My mom always says 'Marry the man who loves you a millimeter more.'

5 Architecture

  • 1. Architecture is politics.
  • 2. Revived in this country the long forgotten beauties of Gothic architecture.
  • 3. I hate vacations. If you can build buildings why sit on the beach?
