Let me read you some of my poetry. My poetry just takes me to another level.

The mystic purchases a moment of exhilaration with a lifetime of confusion and the confusion is infectious and destructive. It is confusing and destructive to try and explain anything in terms of anything else poetry in terms of psychology.

I don't look on poetry as closed works. I feel they're going on all the time in my head and I occasionally snip off a length.

1 Age

  • 1. I love things that age well – things that don't date that stand the test of time and that become living examples of the absolute best.
  • 2. Ours is an excessively conscious age. We know so much we feel so little.
  • 3. I'm not skinny for the wrong reasons. It's not because I'm bulimic or anorexic or doing drugs. Compared to a lot of actresses my age I'm actually overweight.

2 Amazing

3 Anger

  • 1. So many women keep their anger inside and let it build until they explode and then people blow them off again.
  • 2. I'm not a screamer. I'm confrontational but I don't think that translates into anger.
  • 3. Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. Never tell a secret to a bride or a groom wait until they have been married longer.
  • 2. Each year on the anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s birth America has the opportunity to reflect on our nation's progress towards the realization of his dream.
  • 3. There is no more lovely friendly and charming relationship communion or company than a good marriage.

5 Architecture

  • 1. I see the Beijing National Stadium as an architectural project. I accepted Herzog and De Meuron's invitation to collaborate on the design and our proposal won the competition. From beginning to end I stayed with the project. I am committed to fostering relationships between a city and its architecture.
  • 2. Of the individual poems some are more lyric and some are more descriptive or narrative. Each poem is fixed in a moment. All those moments written or read together take on the movement and architecture of a narrative.
  • 3. Even though I build buildings and I pursue my architecture I pursue it as an artist. I deliberately keep a tiny studio. I don't want to be an architectural firm. I want to remain an artist.
