2 Amazing

3 Anger

  • 1. It isn't enough just to scream at the Occupy Wall Street demonstrations. We need our political system to start reflect this anger back into 'How do we fix it? How do we get the economy going again?'
  • 2. That's the conundrum of cartoon stripping as opposed to political cartoons. When your anger is the driving force of your drawing hand failure follows. The anger is OK but it has to serve the interests of the heart frankly.
  • 3. Shock confusion fear anger grief and defiance. On Sept. 11 2001 and for the three days following the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil President George W. Bush led with raw emotion that reflected the public's whipsawing stages of acceptance.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. The chances of a reunion now are less likely. I was thinking of having a 40th anniversary of the band but now they are really another band so it's all a bit weird.
  • 2. I've been sober for two-and-a-half years My children are happy. In August my wife and I will celebrate our fifteenth wedding anniversary. My band is back together with a sold-out tour.
  • 3. A lot of good love can happen in ten years.

5 Architecture

  • 1. Architecture is basically a container of something. I hope they will enjoy not so much the teacup but the tea.
  • 2. I probably spent the first 20 years of my life wanting to be as American as possible. Through my 20s and into my 30s I began to become aware of how so much of my art and architecture has a decidedly Eastern character.
  • 3. At a certain point I just put the building and the art impulse together. I decided that building was a legitimate way to make sculpture.
