1 Age

  • 1. I don't know why people are so obsessed with age anyway. I mean 90 is the new 70 70 is the new 50 and 50 is the new 40 so the whole act-your-age thing? Only up to a point.
  • 2. But the age of chivalry is gone. That of sophisters economists and calculators has succeeded and the glory of Europe is extinguished forever.

2 Amazing

  • 1. It could be fun to sing with Prince or Michael Jackson. Justin Timberlake has an amazing new sound now.
  • 2. I think I came across Cecil Taylor a bit later in 65 or 66. That really impressed me – Cecil Taylor is an amazing character… Both his music and the way he approaches the instrument are astonishing.
  • 3. It's amazing what we can get away with and what we can't. But it's not for me to decide.

3 Anger

  • 1. The great thing about celebrity culture is that they can't seem to stop themselves from displaying their ridiculous behaviour. I feel it's my job as a serious investigative journalist to witness all kinds of behaviour and then report back to the audience through the prism of my own anger and bitterness.
  • 2. Let us not look back in anger nor forward in fear but around in awareness.
  • 3. I guess lyrically they're similar because they're talking about escaping the kind of misery that likes company. 'The Last One Alive ' for me is very simple. It's just about alienation really that causes anger.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. So while an incredible amount of progress has been made on this fifth anniversary I wanted to come here and tell the people of this city directly: My administration is going to stand with you – and fight alongside you – until the job is done. Until New Orleans is all the way back all the way.
  • 2. See the 'On the Road' that came out in 1957 was censored. A lot of the honesty of it the bitter honesty is in the original scroll version that came out in 2007 on the 50-year anniversary. Back then there was so much post-Second World War fear that was imposed on everybody – 'You must live life this way' – and these guys were bored.
  • 3. It was very hard for all of us. It's still very hard. The anniversary of his death just passed and every single one of his friends still after all these years… it's unbelievable.

5 Architecture

  • 1. Less is more.
  • 2. A city building you experience when you walk a suburban building you experience when you drive.
  • 3. Rome has not seen a modern building in more than half a century. It is a city frozen in time.
