  • 1. Canada has a passive-aggressive culture with a lot of sarcasm and righteousness. That went with my weird messianic complex. The ego is a fascinating monster. I was taught from a young age that I had to serve so that turned into me thinking I had to save the planet.

2 Amazing

  • 1. The other day I was reading a blog and I linked over to Streisand's Web site and it was amazing politically. She's so insightful and incisive. And she also says whatever she wants.
  • 2. I mean why am I considered an 'it girl?' Because I'm in a lot of movies right now or am on the covers of magazines? I just hope there is something solid behind that. Because here's the thing with 'it girl' status. It's great and amazing that anybody is saying that at all. But how long does that last?
  • 3. They played Boston. They played at the Boston Tea Party and through an amazing chain of events I got to hang out with them backstage even though I was underage.

3 Anger

  • 1. The greatest remedy for anger is delay.
  • 2. Anger is like those ruins which smash themselves on what they fall.
  • 3. That's the conundrum of cartoon stripping as opposed to political cartoons. When your anger is the driving force of your drawing hand failure follows. The anger is OK but it has to serve the interests of the heart frankly.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. This anniversary serves to help remind the American people that in the wake of one of the greatest political scandals and misuse of power in our history as a nation scandal produced important reforms that served this nation well for two decades.
  • 2. Next month I will celebrate my 30th anniversary of marriage with my beautiful bride Vicki. Our marriage has been a blessing. I have gained even more respect for the institution over the past 3 decades and will defend it against attack.

5 Architecture

  • 1. In architecture the idea degenerated. Design allows a more direct and pleasurable route.
  • 2. Any work of architecture that has with it some discussion some polemic I think is good. It shows that people are interested people are involved.
  • 3. In my early 20s I was so miserable doing construction I wanted something that paid money. I liked nice stuff. I liked cars and architecture and things that cost money. I wanted to not swing a hammer and make money… and not do stuff that was dirty. I attempted to get into comedy. I started to do stand-up but I wasn't very good at it.
