1 Age

  • 1. You hit a certain age and – especially because of TV – the young cooks coming up say 'You're a sellout because you're doing something other than what you should be doing.' 'Top Chef' is a double-edged sword for me: There's a whole group of people who will not come to the restaurants because they assume I'm not in them anymore all I do is TV.
  • 2. The culture of independent film criticism has totally gone down the drain and this seems to come with the territory of the consumer age that we are now living in.
  • 3. I'd like to look like Madonna when I'm her age. I also look at athletes and love their bodies. I've always wanted to be muscly not skinny. A lot of women yo-yo around but I'm always aware if I'm getting a bit out of shape. I never look at the scales but I can just tell. It goes on my tum and bum.

2 Amazing

  • 1. I think Chris Weitz is an amazing director and his sensibility – I wouldn't even know how to articulate it – it's just he's a very sensitive interesting guy.
  • 2. I jetset around and play these songs and get to hang with some pretty amazing people then I go home to a really great farm though actually it's a disaster area of a farm at the moment. But it's certainly a blast. I wouldn't trade lives with anyone right now.
  • 3. John was the smartest and most amazing comedian I've ever worked with. I think more than teaching me about acting or comedy he taught me about life and the love of people and respect of people.

3 Anger

  • 1. Anger and hate against one we love steels our hearts but contempt or pity leaves us silent and ashamed.
  • 2. Beware of him that is slow to anger for when it is long coming it is the stronger when it comes and the longer kept. Abused patience turns to fury.
  • 3. There is an element of anger among women who've been raped. There's certainly a major element of humiliation. But it really does seem like a medical condition of shock and horror.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. My mother and stepfather were married 43 years so I have watched a long marriage. I feel like I had a very good role model for that. And you know it's just a number.
  • 2. We are not the same persons this year as last nor are those we love. It is a happy chance if we changing continue to love a changed person.
  • 3. Actually the year anniversary of what you just heard my son Grahame and I are going to be in a play together and I'm acting for the first time in front of an audience that doesn't consist of a high school drama class.

5 Architecture

  • 1. Architecture is a art when one consciously or unconsciously creates aesthetic emotion in the atmosphere and when this environment produces well being.
  • 2. We all love musical architecture there's no doubt about that.
  • 3. Building art is a synthesis of life in materialised form. We should try to bring in under the same hat not a splintered way of thinking but all in harmony together.
