  • 1. To keep the heart unwrinkled to be hopeful kindly cheerful reverent that is to triumph over old age.

2 Amazing

  • 1. I've been given an amazing opportunity and I could not be more grateful. But I also know that all this will eventually die off. It's not real. It will go away and then you'll go away and then I don't know I'll be left sitting in some English hotel room.

3 Anger

  • 1. Deep down my mom had long suspected I was gay… Much of her anger and hurt came from her sense of betrayal that she was the last to be told.
  • 2. Anger ventilated often hurries towards forgiveness anger concealed often hardens into revenge.
  • 3. I suppose there's an anger in all of us. Some hidden rage that you keep at bay.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. We can't forget what happened on May 4th 1970 when four students gave up their lives because they had the American constitutional right of peaceful protest. They gave up their lives. And to sing that song in that spot on that anniversary was very emotional for us.
  • 2. Since I wrote to you last we have got our chapel beautifully lighted with gas and have had our anniversary.
  • 3. My mother and stepfather were married 43 years so I have watched a long marriage. I feel like I had a very good role model for that. And you know it's just a number.

5 Architecture

  • 1. I probably spent the first 20 years of my life wanting to be as American as possible. Through my 20s and into my 30s I began to become aware of how so much of my art and architecture has a decidedly Eastern character.
  • 2. The organizational architecture is really that a centipede walks on hundred legs and one or two don't count. So if I lose one or two legs the process will go on the organization will go on the growth will go on.
  • 3. Chicago is known for good steaks expensive stores and beautiful architecture. Unfortunately the Windy City also enjoys a reputation for corrupt politics violent crime and some of the strictest gun control laws anywhere in the country.
