1 Age

  • 1. I have worked very hard on being aware of my childhood but moving forward and not letting it bring me down emotionally. That is a hard thing – especially when you have children of your own and you remember what happened to you at that age.

2 Amazing

3 Anger

  • 1. The anger that Uncle Junior has comes from my background. My father was the son of an Italian immigrant and I've seen the fire of the Italian temperament. It can be explosive sometimes in ways that are both funny and tragic.
  • 2. The poor monkey quietly seated on the ground seemed to be in sore trouble at this display of anger.
  • 3. When someone says that I'm angry it's actually a compliment. I have not always been direct with my anger in my relationships which is part of why I'd write about it in my songs because I had such fear around expressing anger as a woman.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. That there's no more important decision in life than who you marry.
  • 2. A lot of good love can happen in ten years.
  • 3. See the 'On the Road' that came out in 1957 was censored. A lot of the honesty of it the bitter honesty is in the original scroll version that came out in 2007 on the 50-year anniversary. Back then there was so much post-Second World War fear that was imposed on everybody – 'You must live life this way' – and these guys were bored.

5 Architecture

  • 1. Form follows function.
  • 2. The same sort of thing happened in my dispute with the National Trust book: Follies: A National Trust Guide which implied that the only pleasure you can get from Folly architecture is by calling the architect mad and by laughing at the architecture.
  • 3. And when an architect has designed a house with large windows which is a necessity today in order to pull the daylight into these very deep houses then curtains come to play a big role in architecture.
