I'm well-travelled so I can see places coming up. I went to St. Croix in the West Indies at Christmas and it had been hit by a really bad tornado. Values there have gone down but I guarantee they will be up again in eight years. So I'll get in now while it's cheap as chips.

Well because I have twin seven-year-old boys I enjoy the gift giving stuff a great deal. We do both Hanukkah and Christmas so it is a costly though extremely pleasing proposition.

2 Amazing

  • 1. I don't know how many thoughts we have a second but it's quite an amazing number and just to pin down the appropriate sequence of those all you really need is a pencil and a piece of paper.
  • 2. To me when a great band is playing together it's amazing for me.
  • 3. No matter how loud the stadium is once you're on that field and that offense walks up to the line it's silent. You can only hear the guys on the field. It's amazing how much concentration you can have when it's required and how powerful your mind is to give it to you.

3 Anger

4 Anniversary

  • 1. The London games mark the 24th anniversary of my winning two golds and setting the world record in the heptathlon. Someone is going to want it records are made to be broken – it's only a matter of time. I hope mine will outlive me.
  • 2. Last week the House of Representatives passed a resolution honoring the victims and heroes of September 11th. As we commemorate the anniversary of 9-11 we must also remember that the threat is still very real today.
  • 3. But to sustain a marriage for 50 years you have to get real a little bit and find someone who is understanding and who you can grow with. My mom always says 'Marry the man who loves you a millimeter more.'

5 Architecture

  • 1. In my early 20s I was so miserable doing construction I wanted something that paid money. I liked nice stuff. I liked cars and architecture and things that cost money. I wanted to not swing a hammer and make money… and not do stuff that was dirty. I attempted to get into comedy. I started to do stand-up but I wasn't very good at it.
  • 2. All architecture is shelter all great architecture is the design of space that contains cuddles exalts or stimulates the persons in that space.
  • 3. Painting sculpture and architecture are finished but the art habit continues.
