I was successful materially but I know life is much more than worldly success. I saw all these blessings God had given me. The way to give thanks is obedience to God.

Whenever you analyse anyone who has had any success and they're in the headlines you will find they are human and make mistakes. I'm certainly that and I've made a lot of mistakes.

1 Age

  • 1. I definitely don't look my age. So I actively look for roles that will help people change their perception of me.
  • 2. I'm well past the age where I'm acceptable. You get to a certain age and you are forbidden access. You're not going to get the kind of coverage that you would like in music magazines you're not going to get played on radio and you're not going to get played on television. I have to survive on word of mouth.
  • 3. I've got volumes on how not to behave. I've got more information now than a guy should have at my age.

2 Amazing

  • 1. I grew up in a Christian home with amazing parents.
  • 2. I cried when I found out I was a finalist I kind of went limp when they called my name. I felt like my spirit jumped out of my body and I was just flesh – it was just amazing.
  • 3. I went to an amazing school in Brooklyn called St. Anne's that's a really kind of creative hot bed.

3 Anger

  • 1. Anger is a manifestation of a deeper issue… and that for me is based on insecurity self-esteem and loneliness.
  • 2. The anger that appears to be building up between the sexes becomes more virulent with every day that passes. And far from women taking the blame… the fact is that men are invariably portrayed as the bad guys. Being a good man is like being a good Nazi.
  • 3. Anger elicits anger fear elicits fear no matter how well meaning we may be.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. Last week the House of Representatives passed a resolution honoring the victims and heroes of September 11th. As we commemorate the anniversary of 9-11 we must also remember that the threat is still very real today.
  • 2. See the 'On the Road' that came out in 1957 was censored. A lot of the honesty of it the bitter honesty is in the original scroll version that came out in 2007 on the 50-year anniversary. Back then there was so much post-Second World War fear that was imposed on everybody – 'You must live life this way' – and these guys were bored.
  • 3. It is a matter of public shame that while we have now commemorated our hundredth anniversary not one in every ten children attending Public schools throughout the colonies is acquainted with a single historical fact about Australia.

5 Architecture

  • 1. Every one who has a heart however ignorant of architecture he may be feels the transcendent beauty and poetry of the mediaeval churches.
  • 2. Make big plans aim high in hope and work remembering that a noble logical diagram once recorded will not die.
  • 3. The same sort of thing happened in my dispute with the National Trust book: Follies: A National Trust Guide which implied that the only pleasure you can get from Folly architecture is by calling the architect mad and by laughing at the architecture.
