I am not opposed to intelligence reform on its face but any changes should reflect the current context.

1 Age

  • 1. Everyone talks about age but it's not about age. It's about work ethic. Winning never gets old.

2 Amazing

  • 1. Ever consider what pets must think of us? I mean here we come back from a grocery store with the most amazing haul – chicken pork half a cow. They must think we're the greatest hunters on earth!
  • 2. I never travel without my Stetson but the more I wear it the more I realise that no one wears hats any more. When I was a kid everybody wore hats especially in Texas but I get off the plane in Dallas now and I'm the only guy with a hat. It's amazing.
  • 3. Well there are better cartoonists now than there ever have been. I firmly believe that. There's some amazing work being done.

3 Anger

  • 1. It's usually a big kind of vent of frustration or anger or sadness that puts me in the right frame of mind to write. It's such a cliche to say that artists write when they're down but it's true for me. It's a relief to get out what's eating away at my heart or my soul or my head.
  • 2. There are people still in the Republican Party that I believe practice the communication of anger of disappointment of regret of pain of sorrow of suffering. That's not what the American people want to hear.
  • 3. I have a right to my anger and I don't want anybody telling me I shouldn't be that it's not nice to be and that something's wrong with me because I get angry.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. My mother and stepfather were married 43 years so I have watched a long marriage. I feel like I had a very good role model for that. And you know it's just a number.
  • 2. The secret of a happy marriage is finding the right person. You know they're right if you love to be with them all the time.
  • 3. Actually the year anniversary of what you just heard my son Grahame and I are going to be in a play together and I'm acting for the first time in front of an audience that doesn't consist of a high school drama class.

5 Architecture

  • 1. People can inhabit anything. And they can be miserable in anything and ecstatic in anything. More and more I think that architecture has nothing to do with it. Of course that's both liberating and alarming.
  • 2. Architecture will always express the technical and social progress of the country in which it is carried out. If we wish to give it the human content that it lacks we must participate in the political struggle.
  • 3. Every one who has a heart however ignorant of architecture he may be feels the transcendent beauty and poetry of the mediaeval churches.
