1 Age

  • 1. You can judge your age by the amount of pain you feel when you come in contact with a new idea.
  • 2. Men of age object too much consult too long adventure too little repent too soon and seldom drive business home to the full period but content themselves with a mediocrity of success.

You're not going to get the kind of coverage that you would like in music magazines you're not going to get played on radio and you're not going to get played on television. I have to survive on word of mouth.

2 Amazing

  • 1. Two packed houses. I guess the theater sat 2 700 people every night so it was an amazing experience.
  • 2. It's really sad looking at people like Lindsay Lohan. She's an amazing actress but you see what happens when people know too much about your personal life. They start not being able to look at you the same way professionally. I don't want that to happen to me.
  • 3. If there was an observer on Mars they would probably be amazed that we have survived this long.

3 Anger

  • 1. When anger rushes unrestrained to action like a hot steed it stumbles on its way. The man of thought strikes deepest and strikes safely.
  • 2. A lot of my humor does come from anger. It's like you're not gonna pull one over on me – which is pretty much my motto anyways.
  • 3. There's a lot of bitterness there's a lot of anger out there. We all have to work hard to heal those wounds.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. Perhaps a hundred people assembled one evening May 15 1876 at the time when the country was celebrating the hundredth anniversary of its political independence.
  • 2. Last week the House of Representatives passed a resolution honoring the victims and heroes of September 11th. As we commemorate the anniversary of 9-11 we must also remember that the threat is still very real today.
  • 3. The concept of two people living together for 25 years without a serious dispute suggests a lack of spirit only to be admired in sheep.

5 Architecture

  • 1. It seems a fantastic paradox but it is nevertheless a most important truth that no architecture can be truly noble which is not imperfect.
  • 2. No architect troubled to design houses that suited people who were to live in them because that would have meant building a whole range of different houses. It was far cheaper and above all timesaving to make them identical.
  • 3. No architecture is so haughty as that which is simple.
