  • 1. I envy the sensibility in Europe appreciating beauty in women as they age. I'm going to go that way. I might dye my gray hair for a bit but beyond that the buck stops. I'm not having any work done.

2 Amazing

  • 1. Having my first number one single and being able to travel to places I've never been before has been amazing. The tour was also fantastic. There are so many things which I've experienced this year which I never even dreamed of.
  • 2. I think physical comedy is an amazing asset because it tells a story that's more universal than just language and dialogue. I grew up watching Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton. They're very powerful figures in my life.
  • 3. I've been pleased to work with so many wonderful stars through the years. This has been an amazing journey. I hope it continues.

3 Anger

  • 1. What influenced me was Tori Amos who was unapologetic about expressing anger through music and Sinead O'Connor. Those two in particular were really moving for me and very inspiring before I wrote 'Jagged Little Pill.'
  • 2. Fear is the only true enemy born of ignorance and the parent of anger and hate.
  • 3. I realized that if my thoughts immediately affect my body I should be careful about what I think. Now if I get angry I ask myself why I feel that way. If I can find the source of my anger I can turn that negative energy into something positive.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. Love grows more tremendously full swift poignant as the years multiply.
  • 2. Chains do not hold a marriage together. It is threads hundreds of tiny threads which sew people together through the years.
  • 3. I was always very grateful to 'em and am grateful to 'em now. I went back a couple of years ago and did their 20th anniversary show. But the longer I stayed on Hee Haw the worse things got for me musically.

5 Architecture
