The first presentation of my show was given in May 1883 at Omaha which I had then chosen as my home. From there we made our first summer tour visiting practically every important city in the country.
I ask myself: Would I have been any worse off if I had stayed home or lived on a farm instead of shock treatments and medication?

And I think what people in New Jersey have gotten to know about me over the last decade that I've been in public life is what you see is what you get. And I'm no different when I'm sitting with you than I am when I'm at home or anyplace else.
