This career essentially chased me down while I was on the spoken-word scene in New York. I kept hearing that my delivery of my poetry – which was very personal and cathartic at the time- was very moving to folks. People thought that I was an actress because of my delivery when I was just dropping into the work and really pouring out my soul.

Let me read you some of my poetry. My poetry just takes me to another level.

The mystic purchases a moment of exhilaration with a lifetime of confusion and the confusion is infectious and destructive. It is confusing and destructive to try and explain anything in terms of anything else poetry in terms of psychology.

I don't look on poetry as closed works. I feel they're going on all the time in my head and I occasionally snip off a length.

1 Age

  • 1. What could be more beautiful than a dear old lady growing wise with age? Every age can be enchanting provided you live within it.
  • 2. There must be a law against forcing children to perform at an early age. Children should have a wonderful childhood. They should not be given too much responsibility.
  • 3. My first job was in retail at the age of 14 and I have worked in the industry ever since.

2 Amazing

  • 1. At the New York Athletic Club they serve amazing food. People go there get healthy and then eat themselves to death – which is I suppose the right way to do it.
  • 2. You don't have a lot of time you have to get it right. It's amazing how they create these episodes in such a short amount of time. They lavish a lot of care and money on each episode and they just look terrific.
  • 3. George Clooney is a super-human he's just such an amazing human being he taught me how to be a better person and a better actor!

3 Anger

  • 1. The ignorant mind with its infinite afflictions passions and evils is rooted in the three poisons. Greed anger and delusion.
  • 2. I really believe that all of us have a lot of darkness in our souls. Anger rage fear sadness. I don't think that's only reserved for people who have horrible upbringings. I think it really exists and is part of the human condition. I think in the course of your life you figure out ways to deal with that.
  • 3. Speak when you are angry – and you'll make the best speech you'll ever regret.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. You will reciprocally promise love loyalty and matrimonial honesty. We only want for you this day that these words constitute the principle of your entire life and that with the help of divine grace you will observe these solemn vows that today before God you formulate.
  • 2. Love grows more tremendously full swift poignant as the years multiply.
  • 3. So I think you have to marry for the right reasons and marry the right person.

5 Architecture

  • 1. The organizational architecture is really that a centipede walks on hundred legs and one or two don't count. So if I lose one or two legs the process will go on the organization will go on the growth will go on.
  • 2. We build buildings which are terribly restless. And buildings don't go anywhere. They shouldn't be restless.
  • 3. If you examine this I think that you will find that it's the mechanics of Japanese architecture that have been thought of as the direct influence upon our architecture.
