1 Age

  • 1. When I was a little kid I used to play with guys twice my age so I was the last one picked so if I picked I knew that I had to get the ball to the scorer if I wanted to stay on the court so that was pretty much my job.
  • 2. Morality comes with the sad wisdom of age when the sense of curiosity has withered.
  • 3. My habit would have been to veer towards the dark – to prove I was something edgy or maybe to prove that I was cognisant of the dark side. Now with age and confidence I can say yeah that's true but I am cognisant of the fact that people can do things well. And can be more loving than you expect.

2 Amazing

  • 1. If my kids are doing well then my life is going pretty well. And if my kids aren't doing well it doesn't matter how the other elements of my life are. It's kind of amazing to have a context like that. This is really wonderful.
  • 2. It's such an amazing thing to be loved for who you are.
  • 3. While I'm not a celebrity it's such a weird concept that society has cooked up for us. Astronauts and teachers are much more amazing than actors.

3 Anger

  • 1. He that would be angry and sin not must not be angry with anything but sin.
  • 2. I have not lost faith in God. I have moments of anger and protest. Sometimes I've been closer to him for that reason.
  • 3. Somebody hits me I'm going to hit him back. Even if it does look like he hasn't eaten in a while.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. The chances of a reunion now are less likely. I was thinking of having a 40th anniversary of the band but now they are really another band so it's all a bit weird.
  • 2. Both the Obama and Romney campaigns said they pulled all their political ads today in observance of the September 11th anniversary. But politics wasn't very far offstage. The Obama campaign sees foreign policy as an advantage this year.
  • 3. I did that Dior Couture 60th anniversary show in July. It took so long to get ready I think I would have rather been watching.

5 Architecture

  • 1. In my early 20s I was so miserable doing construction I wanted something that paid money. I liked nice stuff. I liked cars and architecture and things that cost money. I wanted to not swing a hammer and make money… and not do stuff that was dirty. I attempted to get into comedy. I started to do stand-up but I wasn't very good at it.
  • 2. Chicago is known for good steaks expensive stores and beautiful architecture. Unfortunately the Windy City also enjoys a reputation for corrupt politics violent crime and some of the strictest gun control laws anywhere in the country.
  • 3. Architecture is a visual art and the buildings speak for themselves.
