1 Age

  • 1. Old age is an excellent time for outrage. My goal is to say or do at least one outrageous thing every week.

2 Amazing

  • 1. Surfing is such an amazing concept. You're taking on Nature with a little stick and saying 'I'm gonna ride you!' And a lot of times Nature says 'No you're not!' and crashes you to the bottom.
  • 2. When I go outside of L.A. no matter where it is really anywhere I go people will be stopping me or taking pictures or whatever it is. And it's great. It's amazing. I'm just lucky.
  • 3. I remember when I took Quentin Tarantino with me to a very private screening of the documentary 'Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired ' which shows some of the legal irregularities of his case. I was involved by the film and it was an amazing experience to see people weep at the end of it.

3 Anger

  • 1. There is an element of anger among women who've been raped. There's certainly a major element of humiliation. But it really does seem like a medical condition of shock and horror.
  • 2. Whatever is begun in anger ends in shame.
  • 3. I was very fortunate to play sports. All the anger in me went out. I had to do what I had to do. If you stay angry all the time then you really don't have a good life.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. The chances of a reunion now are less likely. I was thinking of having a 40th anniversary of the band but now they are really another band so it's all a bit weird.
  • 2. Last week the House of Representatives passed a resolution honoring the victims and heroes of September 11th. As we commemorate the anniversary of 9-11 we must also remember that the threat is still very real today.
  • 3. Marriage is an act of will that signifies and involves a mutual gift which unites the spouses and binds them to their eventual souls with whom they make up a sole family – a domestic church.

5 Architecture

  • 1. I don't build in order to have clients. I have clients in order to build.
  • 2. Talking about music is like dancing about architecture.
  • 3. For many years I have lived uncomfortably with the belief that most planning and architectural design suffers for lack of real and basic purpose. The ultimate purpose it seems to me must be the improvement of mankind.
