  • 1. Men of my age live in a state of continual desperation.
  • 2. I had the good fortune to be able to right an injustice that I thought was being heaped on young people by lowering the voting age where you had young people that were old enough to die in Vietnam but not old enough to vote for their members of Congress that sent them there.

2 Amazing

Early on we would go to rehearsals with my dad and I was like the mascot for the backstage crew. That was a big part of my childhood so I dreamed of one day doing a play in London.
  • 2. I am fully committed to Hannah Montana. It's what gave me this amazing opportunity to reach out to so many people. I'm really excited about our new season. We are making great new episodes that I can't wait for our fans to see and I'm looking forward to the 'Hannah Montana' movie that will be out in the spring.
  • 3. One of the most amazing things about mathematics is the people who do math aren't usually interested in application because mathematics itself is truly a beautiful art form. It's structures and patterns and that's what we love and that's what we get off on.

3 Anger

  • 1. You will not be punished for your anger you will be punished by your anger.
  • 2. Anger makes dull men witty but it keeps them poor.
  • 3. President Obama clearly cannot run on his record. All he's offering is more of the same. That's not good. Look at the economy. It's stagnating. And so what they're now going to try and do is bring this campaign down to little things distractions distortions smear fear anger frustration.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. I didn't make my first solo record until 1981 so I don't have any 60's or 70's recordings but I am working on a large boxed set called DUST to be released next year the 20th anniversary of my first solo record.
  • 2. You marry somebody you love everything about them. You grow to learn about them. You never learn everything.
  • 3. More marriages might survive if the partners realized that sometimes the better comes after the worse.

5 Architecture

  • 1. Maybe we can show government how to operate better as a result of better architecture. Eventually I think Chicago will be the most beautiful great city left in the world.
  • 2. A man of eighty has outlived probably three new schools of painting two of architecture and poetry and a hundred in dress.
  • 3. To create architecture is to put in order. Put what in order? Function and objects.
