1 Age

3 Anger

  • 1. After my second-to-last record 'The Greatest' I had gone on tour for a while and I didn't play an instrument for about five years. And I got kind of – it's not self-esteem or whatever or anger toward myself – but disappointed in myself that I hadn't been challenging myself to learn musically.
  • 2. My anger with the US was not at first that they had used that weapon – although that anger came later.
  • 3. We are losing sight of civility in government and politics. Debate and dialogue is taking a back seat to the politics of destruction and anger and control. Dogma has replaced thoughtful discussion between people of differing views.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. I did that Dior Couture 60th anniversary show in July. It took so long to get ready I think I would have rather been watching.
  • 2. I feel there should have been some recognition of the Spice Girls at this year's 25th anniversary. We flew the flag for Britain around the globe in the 1990s and we achieved a hell of a lot.
  • 3. A lot of good love can happen in ten years.

5 Architecture

  • 1. Architecture has recorded the great ideas of the human race. Not only every religious symbol but every human thought has its page in that vast book.
  • 2. Vitality is radiated from exceptional art and architecture.
  • 3. Post-Modernism was a reaction against Modernism. It came quite early to music and literature and a little later to architecture. And I think it's still coming to computer science.
