Let me read you some of my poetry. My poetry just takes me to another level.

The mystic purchases a moment of exhilaration with a lifetime of confusion and the confusion is infectious and destructive. It is confusing and destructive to try and explain anything in terms of anything else poetry in terms of psychology.

I don't look on poetry as closed works. I feel they're going on all the time in my head and I occasionally snip off a length.

1 Age

  • 1. I am at that age when you panic at the slightest thing.
  • 2. Well once you've resigned yourself to the fact that you are the more mature pop performer and you're past the age you ever thought you would do it you might as well do it as long as you can. As long as I can still lift a microphone then I'll do it you know.
  • 3. Confidence is something you're born with. I know I had loads of it even at the age of 15.

2 Amazing

  • 1. I made some friends who are still friends and this is the city of my birth. I love living here when there's a reason to other than just moving here. I still don't like the winters here but it's an amazing city and I love it.
  • 2. I love the fact we're still on the road. I was born to be a factory worker really so for me the chance to get on stage at Wembley 30 years after we started is amazing.
  • 3. So you know parenting is a very intimate and amazing experience and one of the best experiences of my life.

3 Anger

  • 1. Like fragile ice anger passes away in time.
  • 2. Another night I dreamed I saw my father sweeping out the barn floor clean and would not suffer the wheat to be brought in the barn. He appeared to me to be in anger.
  • 3. It is only with burning anger that we can speak of this attack by counter-revolutionary reactionary elements against the capital of our country against our people's democratic order and the power of the working class.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. Experts on romance say for a happy marriage there has to be more than a passionate love. For a lasting union they insist there must be a genuine liking for each other. Which in my book is a good definition for friendship.
  • 2. That there's no more important decision in life than who you marry.
  • 3. Last week the House of Representatives passed a resolution honoring the victims and heroes of September 11th. As we commemorate the anniversary of 9-11 we must also remember that the threat is still very real today.

5 Architecture

  • 1. Does an architecture to assuage the spirit have a place?
  • 2. The English light is so very subtle so very soft and misty that the architecture responded with great delicacy of detail.
  • 3. Maybe we can show government how to operate better as a result of better architecture. Eventually I think Chicago will be the most beautiful great city left in the world.
