  • 1. When you're my age and you see a story you better go for it pretty quickly. I'd just like to get a few more novels under my belt.
  • 2. To resist the frigidity of old age one must combine the body the mind and the heart. And to keep these in parallel vigor one must exercise study and love.

2 Amazing

  • 1. I've got some incredible fans actually – so loyal and they make me birthday cards and Christmas cards. I got this package of poems and artwork based around the songs. They've got this thing called 'Floetry' where they all have to put in artwork. They've set up their own competitions and stuff which is kind of amazing.
  • 2. I get to travel around the world and meet all of these amazing people and they're singing my songs! And to me that's crazy.
  • 3. At first I missed it but it was the amazing energy thing that happened during shows when a lot of people were like Yay Yay Yeah! I missed that for a while. But I don't miss the regular and the business side of that whole thing.

3 Anger

  • 1. I've purged myself of bitterness and anger and remained open to love.
  • 2. Always write angry letters to your enemies. Never mail them.
  • 3. Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else you are the one who gets burned.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. We had a relationship that lasted 44 years. Herbert and I lived together 10 years before we were married. He always gave me a little heart for whatever anniversary.
  • 2. And this year is going to be the 25th anniversary of the 17-0 team the only undefeated season.
  • 3. Strike an average between what a woman thinks of her husband a month before she marries him and what she thinks of him a year afterward and you will have the truth about him.

5 Architecture

  • 1. There was an age however when the transition from savagery to civilization with all its impressive outward manifestations in art and architecture took place for the first time.
  • 2. Until the Eighties Oslo was a rather boring town but it's changed a lot and is now much more cosmopolitan. If I go downtown I visit the harbour to see the tall ships and the ferries and to admire the modern architecture such as the Opera House or the new Astrup Fearnley Museum on the water's edge.
  • 3. Prose is architecture not interior decoration and the Baroque is over.
