Right around the end of the fifties college students and young people in general began to realize that this music was almost like a history of our country – this music contained the real history of the people of this country.

3 Anger

  • 1. I think anger and laughter are very close to each other when you think about it.
  • 2. Anger is the enemy of non-violence and pride is a monster that swallows it up.
  • 3. And we know there has been horrendous loss of life and suffering and we know that there is anger. Anyone who came anywhere near the general election in constituencies with a substantial Muslim population knows that.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. Married people from my generation are like an endangered species!
  • 2. That there's no more important decision in life than who you marry.
  • 3. Marriage is a coming together for better or for worse hopefully enduring and intimate to the degree of being sacred.

5 Architecture

  • 1. Architecture is invention.
  • 2. Buildings should serve people not the other way around.
  • 3. Rome has not seen a modern building in more than half a century. It is a city frozen in time.
