You do the work and you want people to see it but um while I'm doing the work the result doesn't matter at all to me. Ultimately I don't I don't care whether the film is – you know – some big giant box-office bonanza and I don't care if its a complete flop. To me when a film gets made and it's actually finished it's a success. They're all a success in their own way.

I was successful materially but I know life is much more than worldly success. I saw all these blessings God had given me. The way to give thanks is obedience to God.

Whenever you analyse anyone who has had any success and they're in the headlines you will find they are human and make mistakes. I'm certainly that and I've made a lot of mistakes.

1 Age

  • 1. We are living in the machine age. For the first time in history the comedian has been compelled to supply himself with jokes and comedy material to compete with the machine. Whether he knows it or not the comedian is on a treadmill to oblivion.

2 Amazing

  • 1. Hawaii was beautiful of course we played at Turtle Bay an amazing resort right on the ocean.
  • 2. My dad was working abroad in Iraq and he was a doctor. We used to go and visit him in Baghdad off and on. For the first ten years of my life we used to go backwards and forwards to Baghdad so that was quite amazing. I spent a lot of time traveling around the Middle East.
  • 3. Tell me why is the media here so negative? Why are we in India so embarrassed to recognise our own strengths our achievements? We are such a great nation. We have so many amazing success stories but we refuse to acknowledge them. Why?

3 Anger

  • 1. If anger proceeds from a great cause it turns to fury if from a small cause it is peevishness and so is always either terrible or ridiculous.
  • 2. The deferring of anger is the best antidote to anger.
  • 3. As the plane got closer to Miami I had this terrible feeling he was dying. Maybe he was telling me that he was going. I felt anger panic despair and helplessness.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. The day before the anniversary of D-Day we lost a man who was equaled by few and surpassed by none as a leader in the cause of freedom: Ronald Reagan.
  • 2. You marry somebody you love everything about them. You grow to learn about them. You never learn everything.

5 Architecture

  • 1. I was planning to go into architecture. But when I arrived architecture was filled up. Acting was right next to it so I signed up for acting instead.
  • 2. What is being called the UN 'gender architecture' is more like a shack. Women need a bigger global house if equality is ever to become a reality.
  • 3. Without this spirit Modernist architecture cannot fully exist. Since there is often a mismatch between the logic and the spirit of Modernism I use architecture to reconcile the two.
