You always want to go out there with the best book possible so I listen to what my editors say and even if they don't know how to fix it I always seem to find a way. 'Trust Your Eyes' is the best book I've written and I don't know if I can do any better.

2 Amazing

  • 1. When things happen – you ask yourself why today why not tomorrow why not yesterday? That's the most amazing thing about time.
  • 2. Well Freddie Mercury is a really huge rock star in my head. I've always thought he was just so tough and such an amazing entertainer really a contradiction in many ways as well. So he was incredible.
  • 3. But when you're deprived of it for a lengthy period then you value human companionship. But you have to survive and so you devise all kinds of mental exercises and it's amazing.

3 Anger

  • 1. My anger with the US was not at first that they had used that weapon – although that anger came later.
  • 2. I know of no more disagreeable situation than to be left feeling generally angry without anybody in particular to be angry at.
  • 3. I really believe that all of us have a lot of darkness in our souls. Anger rage fear sadness. I don't think that's only reserved for people who have horrible upbringings. I think it really exists and is part of the human condition. I think in the course of your life you figure out ways to deal with that.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. The concept of two people living together for 25 years without a serious dispute suggests a lack of spirit only to be admired in sheep.
  • 2. I've been sober for two-and-a-half years My children are happy. In August my wife and I will celebrate our fifteenth wedding anniversary. My band is back together with a sold-out tour.
  • 3. My mother and stepfather were married 43 years so I have watched a long marriage. I feel like I had a very good role model for that. And you know it's just a number.

5 Architecture

  • 1. Architecture can't fully represent the chaos and turmoil that are part of the human personality but you need to put some of that turmoil into the architecture or it isn't real.
  • 2. I would fix other people's lines if they asked me on occasion. The hard part of writing is the architecture of it getting the story and structuring it. Not the tweaking of lines.
  • 3. I take a lot from everywhere. I take from music architecture novels and plays. Anywhere that hits you.
