The things the writers have me doing on 'Suburgatory' are insane. I think they think it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

I would say that playing this character has caused me to think about a lot of things. He's always questioning himself and trying to get back to something he lost touch with and trying to find forgiveness. Everybody struggles with these things to some extent in their life.

1 Age

  • 1. Age is a terrible avenger. The lessons of life give you so much to work with but by the time you've got all this great wisdom you don't get to be young anymore.
  • 2. I've an enormous respect for my mother who at the age of 39 raised three children and I grew up with my grandmother in the household. And so it was a really strong household of women – my poor brother! It was great growing up with so many generations of women.

2 Amazing

3 Anger

  • 1. Lawyers are men who hire out their words and anger.
  • 2. I think anger and laughter are very close to each other when you think about it.
  • 3. Anger is the most impotent of passions. It effects nothing it goes about and hurts the one who is possessed by it more than the one against whom it is directed.

4 Anniversary

5 Architecture

  • 1. My buildings will be my legacy… they will speak for me long after I'm gone.
  • 2. The architecture of a story can be a little bit different if it's a true story.
  • 3. I mean certainly writing painting photography dance architecture there is an aspect of almost every art form that is useful and that merges into film in some way.
