  • 1. I envy the sensibility in Europe appreciating beauty in women as they age. I'm going to go that way. I might dye my gray hair for a bit but beyond that the buck stops. I'm not having any work done.

2 Amazing

  • 1. I listen to every thing all kinds of stuff. I've been obsessed with the Nas and Damian Marley record 'Distant Relatives.' I feel like a lot of people haven't heard it and it's amazing.
  • 2. I've created directed and choreographed for Lady Gaga since the beginning so 'Born This Way ' this was musically such an amazing evolution and such a brilliant record. So when she played it for me it took me a while to find out the visual interpretation that I could give back to her.
  • 3. In grade school I was taught that the United States is a melting pot. People from all over the world come here for freedom and to pursue a better life. They arrive with next to nothing work incredibly hard learn a new language and new customs and in a generation they become an integral part of our amazing nation.

3 Anger

  • 1. In a controversy the instant we feel anger we have already ceased striving for the truth and have begun striving for ourselves.
  • 2. I don't play pyrotechnic scales. I play about frustration patience anger. Music is an extension of my soul.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. This year as we celebrate the 230th anniversary of America's independence please remember the symbols that are sacred to this country. Fly Old Glory high and show your respect and admiration for this great nation and the values we hold dear.
  • 2. Each year on the anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s birth America has the opportunity to reflect on our nation's progress towards the realization of his dream.
  • 3. I didn't make my first solo record until 1981 so I don't have any 60's or 70's recordings but I am working on a large boxed set called DUST to be released next year the 20th anniversary of my first solo record.

5 Architecture

  • 1. I think that narrative fiction filmmaking is the culmination of several art forms: theater art history architecture. Whereas doc filmmaking is more pure cinema like cinema verite is film in its purest form.
  • 2. Japanese traditional architecture is created based on these conditions. This is the reason you have a very high degree of connection between the outside and inside in architecture.
  • 3. In my early 20s I was so miserable doing construction I wanted something that paid money. I liked nice stuff. I liked cars and architecture and things that cost money. I wanted to not swing a hammer and make money… and not do stuff that was dirty. I attempted to get into comedy. I started to do stand-up but I wasn't very good at it.
