2 Amazing

3 Anger

  • 1. I know of no more disagreeable situation than to be left feeling generally angry without anybody in particular to be angry at.
  • 2. When I was younger I was terrified to express anger because it would often kick-start a horrible reaction in the men in my life. So I bit my tongue. I was left to painstakingly deal with the aftermath of my avoidance later in life in therapy or through the lyrics of my songs.
  • 3. I'm really busted up over this and I'm very very sorry to those people in the audience the blacks the Hispanics whites – everyone that was there that took the brunt of that anger and hate and rage and how it came through.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. Perhaps a hundred people assembled one evening May 15 1876 at the time when the country was celebrating the hundredth anniversary of its political independence.
  • 2. This year as we celebrate the 230th anniversary of America's independence please remember the symbols that are sacred to this country. Fly Old Glory high and show your respect and admiration for this great nation and the values we hold dear.
  • 3. Since I wrote to you last we have got our chapel beautifully lighted with gas and have had our anniversary.

5 Architecture

  • 1. At this present time matter is still the best way to think of architecture but I'm not so sure for very long. The computer is radicalizing the way we think about our world.
  • 2. If you're into architecture and you're from the West everything is hors d'oeuvres for working to rebuild the Temple. Ultimately you're led there. You can't escape it.
  • 3. To provide meaningful architecture is not to parody history but to articulate it.
