2 Amazing

  • 1. I finish so many books it's amazing. I'm also doing Rosetta Stone learning some French.
  • 2. My dad was working abroad in Iraq and he was a doctor. We used to go and visit him in Baghdad off and on. For the first ten years of my life we used to go backwards and forwards to Baghdad so that was quite amazing. I spent a lot of time traveling around the Middle East.
  • 3. First let me report that the art in the Barnes Collection has never looked better. My trips to the old Barnes were always amazing but except on the sunniest days you could barely see the art. The building always felt pushed beyond its capacity.

3 Anger

  • 1. Anybody can become angry – that is easy but to be angry with the right person and to the right degree and at the right time and for the right purpose and in the right way – that is not within everybody's power and is not easy.
  • 2. I use the music to vent and a lot of the stuff that I am writing about or was writing about contained a lot of anger and anxiety stress and depression so that's how the album came out so dark.
  • 3. I did not want to put myself on the line as an Australian playing Britain's greatest comic actor. The fans of Sellers are obsessive possessive – and aggressive. I did not want to risk their anger – or my own reputation.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. Some people ask the secret of our long marriage. We take time to go to a restaurant two times a week. A little candlelight dinner soft music and dancing. She goes Tuesdays I go Fridays.
  • 2. A lot of good love can happen in ten years.
  • 3. I didn't make my first solo record until 1981 so I don't have any 60's or 70's recordings but I am working on a large boxed set called DUST to be released next year the 20th anniversary of my first solo record.

5 Architecture

  • 1. I don't know why I've always been so captivated by architecture.
  • 2. The loftier the building the deeper must the foundation be laid.
  • 3. Every one who has a heart however ignorant of architecture he may be feels the transcendent beauty and poetry of the mediaeval churches.
