2 Amazing

  • 1. You know 'The Golden Girls' was a very unusual show to start on. I was young and it was a show about old people and it was a very traditional show but it was also an amazing training ground for a joke-writer. It forced me to learn those skills.
  • 2. It's such an amazing thing to be loved for who you are.
  • 3. Paul Farmer has helped to build amazing health care system in one of the poorest areas of Haiti. He founded Partners in Health which serves the destitute and the sick in many parts of the world from Haiti to Boston and from Russia to Peru.

3 Anger

  • 1. I realized that if my thoughts immediately affect my body I should be careful about what I think. Now if I get angry I ask myself why I feel that way. If I can find the source of my anger I can turn that negative energy into something positive.
  • 2. The more anger towards the past you carry in your heart the less capable you are of loving in the present.
  • 3. It absolutely helped – to write the father in both 'Juicy' and 'Beasts ' I had to see the whole story from his point of view. All of a sudden I understood more of what my own father must be going through – the fear the frustration the anger… the hope that he'll leave a legacy.

4 Anniversary

5 Architecture

  • 1. I like things that are kind of eclectic when one thing doesn't go with another. That's why I love Rome. The town itself is that way. It's where Fascist architecture meets classic Renaissance where the ancient bangs up against the contemporary. It has a touch of everything. That's my style and that's what my work is about.

  • 3. But after the time there I'd had it with fashion again so I left to go to architecture school in a summer course at Harvard which didn't last very long.
