  • 1. Believe me that was a happy age before the days of architects before the days of builders.
  • 2. My inspiration was my mom. She's a great cook and she still cooks and we still banter back and forth about cooking. Growing up in a mostly Portuguese community food was important and the family table was extremely important. At a very young age I understood that.

2 Amazing

3 Anger

  • 1. All anger is not sinful because some degree of it and on some occasions is inevitable. But it becomes sinful and contradicts the rule of Scripture when it is conceived upon slight and inadequate provocation and when it continues long.
  • 2. Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else you are the one who gets burned.
  • 3. Like fragile ice anger passes away in time.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. June 2005 is the five year anniversary of the debut of Battle Pope.
  • 2. It was very hard for all of us. It's still very hard. The anniversary of his death just passed and every single one of his friends still after all these years… it's unbelievable.
  • 3. I did that Dior Couture 60th anniversary show in July. It took so long to get ready I think I would have rather been watching.

5 Architecture

  • 1. When you look at Japanese traditional architecture you have to look at Japanese culture and its relationship with nature. You can actually live in a harmonious close contact with nature – this very unique to Japan.
  • 2. Architecture starts when you carefully put two bricks together. There it begins.
  • 3. My passion and great enjoyment for architecture and the reason the older I get the more I enjoy it is because I believe we – architects – can effect the quality of life of the people.
