I have a lot of responsibilities outside myself. I have a large family. I want to know I can always be helpful.

My family makes these vinegars – out of everything from grapes to peaches and cherries. We go through the whole process with the giant vat and drainer label them and give them as Christmas presents.

  • 1. In the information age you don't teach philosophy as they did after feudalism. You perform it. If Aristotle were alive today he'd have a talk show.
  • 2. I love my kids and the moments I have with them and it's kind of weird it's such an age old cliche but the way that my sons the way they make me feel when I look at them the way they say things no one else would probably react to them but it's a special thing for me.

2 Amazing

  • 1. When you're doing the traditional musicals singing songs that are 40 and 50 years old you realize there's a reason why those musicals are hits. These are amazing songs!
  • 2. It's been amazing to watch because for 'Thor' which was always a mid-selling book to be in the top ten for every single issue since the reboot is just a great compliment.
  • 3. I think being on a TV show is amazing but also people get kind of used to seeing you a certain way and so it becomes a challenge to break free from that in a way.

3 Anger

  • 1. I did not think that I was angry but clearly anger was reflected in my writing. I did not think that I had been affected emotionally but it was clear from my writing that I was still very emotional about the trial some six months after it ended.
  • 2. The American people are smart. They've gotten sick of the predictable hyperpartisan talking points and canned anger.
  • 3. I drank for about 25 years getting over the loss of my father and I took the anger out on myself. I did a good job at beating myself up at sometimes. I don't drink anymore but my alcoholic head occasionally says different. 'Nil By Mouth' was a love letter to my father because I needed to resolve some issues in order to be able to forgive him.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. Presently the Commission for Commemorating 350 Years of American Jewish History has been brought about to encourage and sponsor a variety of historical activities that advance our understanding of the American Jewish experience as it marks this milestone anniversary.
  • 2. I think you have to be willing to take a bullet for somebody if you're going to stand up there take your vows and be married to them for the rest of your life.
  • 3. A lot of good love can happen in ten years.
