The fact that we are I don't know how many millions of people yet communication complete communication is completely impossible between two of those people is to me one of the biggest tragic themes in the world.

People break down after a couple of hours. All the defenses go down and there's a kind of communication that if I spent 20 years in a living room with one of these people I would never never know as much about them as I do in that one day.

It's about communication. It's about honesty. It's about treating people in the organization as deserving to know the facts. You don't try to give them half the story. You don't try to hide the story. You treat them as – as true equals and you communicate and you communicate and communicate.

1 Age

  • 1. One already feels like an anachronism writing novels in the age of what-ever-this-is-the-age-of but touring to promote them feels doubly anachronistic. The marketplace is showing an increasing intolerance for the time-honored practice of printing information on paper and shipping it around the country.
  • 2. I saw no African people in the printed and illustrated Sunday school lessons. I began to suspect at this early age that someone had distorted the image of my people. My long search for the true history of African people the world over began.
  • 3. Well my son really loves wildlife. And everytime he draws a polar bear I want to tell him there probably won't any by the time… he's my age. That's kinda hard to deal with.

2 Amazing

  • 1. When you're doing the traditional musicals singing songs that are 40 and 50 years old you realize there's a reason why those musicals are hits. These are amazing songs!
  • 2. Reba McEntire came through town when I lived in Texas. She had this amazing theatrical show with like 13 different wardrobe changes. I was eight and I was like Wow I wanna do that!
  • 3. The real art is not to come up with extraordinary clever words but to make ordinary simple words do extraordinary things. To use the language that we all use and to make amazing things occur.

3 Anger

  • 1. And I think there's something about conservatives frankly – and the Left when it comes to their channels of persuasion are unpersuasive. They are most of them are hate-filled obscenity-clogged rants of anger and hatred.
  • 2. I think I'm basically the same guy I always was. Maybe I've learned through experience to rein in some of the anger and temper they say redheads normally have.

4 Anniversary

5 Architecture

  • 1. Japanese architecture is traditionally based on wooden structures that need renovating on a regular basis.
