The rest of the world cares about how we conduct our affairs because they then take that lead. We're the only leader in the world today. Some are wishing us well others think that we're down and are not going to get back up again but they are all watching with great interest to see how we conduct our business over the next couple of years.

3 Anger

  • 1. Always write angry letters to your enemies. Never mail them.
  • 2. You've just got to have a sense of respect for the person you have children with. Anger doesn't help anybody. Ultimately you have to say forgiveness is important and honoring what you had together is important. But it's easy to say and harder to do.

4 Anniversary

  • 2. Experts on romance say for a happy marriage there has to be more than a passionate love. For a lasting union they insist there must be a genuine liking for each other. Which in my book is a good definition for friendship.
  • 3. More marriages might survive if the partners realized that sometimes the better comes after the worse.

5 Architecture

  • 1. But after the time there I'd had it with fashion again so I left to go to architecture school in a summer course at Harvard which didn't last very long.
  • 2. The new architecture of transparency and lightness comes from Japan and Europe.
  • 3. Without this spirit Modernist architecture cannot fully exist. Since there is often a mismatch between the logic and the spirit of Modernism I use architecture to reconcile the two.
