The monarchy is foremost a business and it's important to them that the British public continue to finance the excessive luxurious lifestyles of the now quite enormous wasteful and useless 'royal' family. I find it very sad.

The rest of the world cares about how we conduct our affairs because they then take that lead. We're the only leader in the world today. 5 Architecture

  • 1. If architecture had nothing to do with art it would be astonishingly easy to build houses but the architect's task – his most difficult task – is always that of selecting.
  • 2. In architecture the idea degenerated. Design allows a more direct and pleasurable route.
  • 3. No architect troubled to design houses that suited people who were to live in them because that would have meant building a whole range of different houses. It was far cheaper and above all timesaving to make them identical.
