1 Age

  • 1. There are few things that we so unwillingly give up even in advanced age as the supposition that we still have the power of ingratiating ourselves with the fair sex.
  • 2. Age is not measured by years. Nature does not equally distribute energy. Some people are born old and tired while others are going strong at seventy.
  • 3. The funniest racism is the racism between minorities. It's something you don't see dramatized but almost every minority I know who's my age they have these funny stories about their parents stereotyping other minorities.

2 Amazing

  • 1. I think for business reasons fiscal reasons I think these cable networks can take greater risks and I think with a risk comes better programming. And I think USA has got an amazing identity to it now that is clearly defined with its 'Characters welcome' tag.
  • 2. The things that people do now in sports you can't even believe. These are complete total athletes. To see what human beings can do in the highest level is amazing.
  • 3. Singing really is acting. In a lot of ways it's much more personal. I love music and being able to work on that is amazing.

3 Anger

  • 1. Whoever incites anger has a strong insurance against indifference.
  • 2. Generalised anger and frustration is something that gets you in the studio and gets you to work – though it's not necessarily evident in anything that's finished.
  • 3. In our daily life we encounter people who are angry deceitful intent only on satisfying their own needs. There is so much anger distrust greed and pettiness that we are losing our capacity to work well together.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. Strike an average between what a woman thinks of her husband a month before she marries him and what she thinks of him a year afterward and you will have the truth about him.
  • 2. It was very hard for all of us. It's still very hard. The anniversary of his death just passed and every single one of his friends still after all these years… it's unbelievable.
  • 3. And currently there are four to five new works in the pipeline for upcoming celebrations such as the Sydney 2000 Olympics Australian Federation my 50th Birthday and Sydney Dance Company's 25th Anniversary.

5 Architecture

  • 1. Whatever good things we build end up building us.
  • 2. Look architecture has a lot of places to hide behind a lot of excuses. 'The client made me do this.' 'The city made me do this.' 'Oh the budget.' I don't believe that anymore.
  • 3. My buildings will be my legacy… they will speak for me long after I'm gone.
