  • 1. I wanted to do two things when I was growing up about your age. I wanted to play in the NBA and I wanted to be a businessman after my basketball career was over and that is what I am doing now.

2 Amazing

  • 1. What an amazing opportunity to do something like direct a movie and step out of your creative comfort zone and yet do something that is also so familiar at the same time. I was also just excited to have the chance to direct which I may never get to do again.
  • 2. I think dance is amazing because what people don't realize is like when you dance your spirit and your soul get ignited. You're not only releasing endorphins but also your spirit is awakening. It makes you feel good and happy.

3 Anger

  • 1. You must never be satisfied with losing. You must get angry terribly angry about losing. But the mark of the good loser is that he takes his anger out on himself and not his victorious opponents or on his teammates.
  • 2. I am ready to accept all accusations allegations anger – but I have to succeed.
  • 3. I get in trouble when I say things like 'I'm attracted to violence.' I was a pretty angry kid and I got into military history largely as a way to vent my own anger. As I got older it narrowed down to a more specific focus on individual violence. I'm just trying to understand where it came from.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. The secret of a happy marriage is finding the right person. You know they're right if you love to be with them all the time.
  • 2. I didn't make my first solo record until 1981 so I don't have any 60's or 70's recordings but I am working on a large boxed set called DUST to be released next year the 20th anniversary of my first solo record.
  • 3. Married people from my generation are like an endangered species!

5 Architecture

  • 1. That Moorish architecture is all over the place of course. It affects me everywhere I see it as it does so many people. But Brand Library was a special place to me and I know I've paid homage to it many times in my drawings.
  • 2. All real education is the architecture of the soul.
  • 3. They can do without architecture who have no olives nor wines in the cellar.
