  • 1. It's getting better generally daily especially in TV for women in acting and age and looks count less. As more women come into the business. Change of any sort takes a long time to happen.
  • 2. There are people whose watch stops at a certain hour and who remain permanently at that age.
  • 3. In the digital age of 'overnight' success stories such as Facebook the hard slog is easily overlooked.

2 Amazing

  • 1. When you think of what Americans accomplished building these amazing cities and all the good it's done in the world it's kind of disheartening to hear so much hatred of America not just from abroad but internally.
  • 2. When I receive letters from girls that say 'You give me confidence ' I think 'Wow this is amazing.' That's my goal: to let people know it's truly what's on the inside that counts.
  • 3. The thing that is really hard and really amazing is giving up on being perfect and beginning the work of becoming yourself.

3 Anger

  • 1. That's the conundrum of cartoon stripping as opposed to political cartoons. When your anger is the driving force of your drawing hand failure follows. The anger is OK but it has to serve the interests of the heart frankly.
  • 2. I think a certain amount of anger has been a fuel of mine if you want – but also some sort of sadness and plain mischief of course.
  • 3. Quite a lot of our contemporary culture is actually shot through with a resentment of limits and the passage of time anger at what we can't do fear or even disgust at growing old.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. Marriage is an act of will that signifies and involves a mutual gift which unites the spouses and binds them to their eventual souls with whom they make up a sole family – a domestic church.
  • 2. Marriage is an alliance entered into by a man who can't sleep with the window shut and a woman who can't sleep with the window open.
  • 3. As the third anniversary of the September 11th attacks draws near we must ensure our nation is prepared to handle the continued threat of violence and terrorism on our country.

5 Architecture

  • 1. Art is very tricky because it's what you do for yourself. It's much harder for me to make those works than the monuments or the architecture.
  • 2. A city building you experience when you walk a suburban building you experience when you drive.
  • 3. We shape our buildings thereafter they shape us.
