You do the work and you want people to see it but um while I'm doing the work the result doesn't matter at all to me. Ultimately I don't I don't care whether the film is – you know – some big giant box-office bonanza and I don't care if its a complete flop. To me when a film gets made and it's actually finished it's a success. They're all a success in their own way.

I was successful materially but I know life is much more than worldly success. I saw all these blessings God had given me. The way to give thanks is obedience to God.

Whenever you analyse anyone who has had any success and they're in the headlines you will find they are human and make mistakes. I'm certainly that and I've made a lot of mistakes.

  • 1. My parents were really really cool about supporting what I wanted to do at a really young age. I think I was about 10 when I caught the bug. They would drive me down to New York if there were auditions. When I was 12 I did this show on Broadway called 'High Society ' so we moved to New York for the run of that.
  • 2. There must be a law against forcing children to perform at an early age. Children should have a wonderful childhood. They should not be given too much responsibility.

2 Amazing

  • 1. The last real movie stars were probably Redford and Newman. And things were different then. There wasn't this amazing amount of magazines and information about them.
  • 2. I think the fact that I made enough noise in the world that I might be remembered is an amazing achievement. You can't ask for more than that.
  • 3. He's this amazing ambassador for all superheroes. What we've made as a film not only examines that but is also an amazing adventure story. It's been an honor to work on. As a comic book fan Superman is like the Rosetta Stone of all superheroes.

3 Anger

  • 1. I'm not angry I'm not an angry person but I do sometimes like playing with the perception of anger as in pretending that I'm more angry than I actually am and sometimes it works quite well.
  • 2. As the plane got closer to Miami I had this terrible feeling he was dying. Maybe he was telling me that he was going. I felt anger panic despair and helplessness.
  • 3. When you start suppressing feelings at an early age it hurts you down the road. Full expression of anger and pain is very important.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. It was very hard for all of us. It's still very hard. The anniversary of his death just passed and every single one of his friends still after all these years… it's unbelievable.
  • 2. So I think you have to marry for the right reasons and marry the right person.
  • 3. As the third anniversary of the September 11th attacks draws near we must ensure our nation is prepared to handle the continued threat of violence and terrorism on our country.

5 Architecture

  • 1. I don't know why I've always been so captivated by architecture.
  • 2. Form follows function.
  • 3. Every one who has a heart however ignorant of architecture he may be feels the transcendent beauty and poetry of the mediaeval churches.
