This is just what I have thought when I have seen slaves at work – they seem to go through the motions of labor without putting strength into them. They keep their powers in reserve for their own use at night perhaps.

The only reason I would stay away from a period piece is because sometimes the women are painted in a very stereotypical weakling wallflower way – that's something I don't want to do. I want to show strength in the women I play and a journey of some sort.

Death used to announce itself in the thick of life but now people drag on so long it sometimes seems that we are reaching the stage when we may have to announce ourselves to death. It is as though one needs a special strength to die and not a final weakness.

The strength of the United States is not the gold at Fort Knox or the weapons of mass destruction that we have but the sum total of the education and the character of our people.

2 Amazing

  • 1. It's been a fascinating thing because we didn't really know how to write when we started South Park at all. It's been like we've just sort of grown up a bit and it's amazing to just see how if you take Butters and Cartman and put them in any scene it works.

3 Anger

  • 1. Good satire comes from anger. It comes from a sense of injustice that there are wrongs in the world that need to be fixed. And what better place to get that well of venom and outrage boiling than a newsroom because you're on the front lines.
  • 2. I think a certain amount of anger has been a fuel of mine if you want – but also some sort of sadness and plain mischief of course.
  • 3. I had a lot of anger inside me and that came out at times that were not particularly advantageous to me career-wise.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. As the third anniversary of the September 11th attacks draws near we must ensure our nation is prepared to handle the continued threat of violence and terrorism on our country.
  • 2. Never tell a secret to a bride or a groom wait until they have been married longer.
  • 3. My last trip to New Orleans was for the fifth anniversary of Katrina and I had the awesome opportunity to bring my family down. We all worked on a house together and met some of the families.

5 Architecture

  • 1. A great building must begin with the unmeasurable must go through measurable means when it is being designed and in the end must be unmeasurable.
  • 2. Less is more.
  • 3. We are stymied by regulations limited choice and the threat of litigation. Neither consultants nor industry itself provide research which takes architecture forward.
