1 Age

  • 1. I began to speak well at a very advanced age – 15 16 17 years old. It was psychological: the trauma of war my family and growing up on my own. I was more or less a street kid.
  • 2. I don't believe one grows older. I think that what happens early on in life is that at a certain age one stands still and stagnates.
  • 3. I've always been intrigued by color and by interesting hair. I was one of those weird little girls doing my own hair at the age of 9. I was like getting weird gels and new brushes and cornrow holders. I would tweak and perm at the age of 13.

2 Amazing

  • 1. I feel like I'm really blessed and lucky that I have a very good social life outside of the gym and I have a really amazing family. My parents are so supportive. I have a younger brother and two younger sisters and they're really awesome. So I feel like I get the best of both worlds.
  • 2. If my kids are doing well then my life is going pretty well. And if my kids aren't doing well it doesn't matter how the other elements of my life are. It's kind of amazing to have a context like that. This is really wonderful.
  • 3. I am very rich because of 'Chic' – artistically as well as spiritually. It's been an amazing life.

3 Anger

  • 1. Speak when you are angry and you will make the best speech you will ever regret.
  • 2. I don't think I could play a character that I couldn't relate to somehow. I'm not unfamiliar with frustration anger shame helplessness and a load of other emotions that make up our psycho-soup. I try to focus on that frustration that sense of unfairness and multiply it.
  • 3. What influenced me was Tori Amos who was unapologetic about expressing anger through music and Sinead O'Connor. Those two in particular were really moving for me and very inspiring before I wrote 'Jagged Little Pill.'

4 Anniversary

  • 1. Some people ask the secret of our long marriage. We take time to go to a restaurant two times a week. A little candlelight dinner soft music and dancing. She goes Tuesdays I go Fridays.
  • 2. One should believe in marriage as in the immortality of the soul.
  • 3. So I think you have to marry for the right reasons and marry the right person.

5 Architecture

  • 1. I paint mostly from real life. It has to start with that. Real people real street scenes behind the curtain scenes live models paintings photographs staged setups architecture grids graphic design. Whatever it takes to make it work.
  • 2. Architecture is a art when one consciously or unconsciously creates aesthetic emotion in the atmosphere and when this environment produces well being.
  • 3. Today's developer is a poor substitute for the committed entrepreneur of the last century for whom the work of architecture represented a chance to celebrate the worth of his enterprise.
