What irritates me is the bland way people go around saying 'Oh our attitude has changed. We don't dislike these people any more.' But by the strangest coincidence they haven't taken away the injustice the laws are still on the books.

I won't say there aren't any Harvard graduates who have never asserted a superior attitude. But they have done so to our great embarrassment and in no way represent the Harvard I know.

4 Anniversary

  • 3. Perhaps a hundred people assembled one evening May 15 1876 at the time when the country was celebrating the hundredth anniversary of its political independence.

5 Architecture

  • 1. The greatest advances of civilization whether in architecture or painting in science and literature in industry or agriculture have never come from centralized government.
  • 2. I left science then I went into art but I approach things very analytically. I choose to pursue both art and architecture as completely separate fields rather than merging them.
  • 3. That Moorish architecture is all over the place of course. It affects me everywhere I see it as it does so many people. But Brand Library was a special place to me and I know I've paid homage to it many times in my drawings.
