I won't say there aren't any Harvard graduates who have never asserted a superior attitude. But they have done so to our great embarrassment and in no way represent the Harvard I know.

  • 1. A lot of music you might listen to is pretty vapid it doesn't always deal with our deeper issues. These are the things I'm interested in now particularly at my age.
  • 2. If you explode onto the scene at a very young age there are so many people pulling you in different directions. It takes time to recalibrate and see what's important.

2 Amazing

  • 1. Theatre when it is at its best takes a lot of beating – the live experience and the shared collective experience of live storytelling is really special when it is good. Particularly here in New York because the audiences are amazing very vocal and very engaged and that makes theatre very exciting.
  • 2. I'd like to share my experiences and the lessons I've learned and hopefully create some amazing fun courses.
  • 3. Everything that has happened to me has been amazing and surprising.

3 Anger

  • 1. In times of great stress or adversity it's always best to keep busy to plow your anger and your energy into something positive.
  • 2. When you learn that a truth is a lie anger follows.
  • 3. It's usually a big kind of vent of frustration or anger or sadness that puts me in the right frame of mind to write. It's such a cliche to say that artists write when they're down but it's true for me. It's a relief to get out what's eating away at my heart or my soul or my head.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. Perhaps a hundred people assembled one evening May 15 1876 at the time when the country was celebrating the hundredth anniversary of its political independence.
  • 2. Strike an average between what a woman thinks of her husband a month before she marries him and what she thinks of him a year afterward and you will have the truth about him.
  • 3. Since I wrote to you last we have got our chapel beautifully lighted with gas and have had our anniversary.

5 Architecture

  • 1. Does an architecture to assuage the spirit have a place?
  • 2. Building art is a synthesis of life in materialised form. We should try to bring in under the same hat not a splintered way of thinking but all in harmony together.
  • 3. I acquired an admiration for Japanese culture art and architecture and learned of the existence of the game of GO which I still play.
