1 Age

  • 1. My habit would have been to veer towards the dark – to prove I was something edgy or maybe to prove that I was cognisant of the dark side. • 2. I spend a good portion of my dinner-party conversation defending America because no matter what the political agenda it's still a fantastic amazing place.
  • 3. I don't like staying in hotels. I like to be in my own bed. San Diego as a city is really awesome. The only hard part of it for me is that I'm away from my family and my house. But as far as shooting down there we get amazing locations and the crew is really really stellar down there. They are really fun.

3 Anger

  • 1. Life is precious and there's not a lot of room for anger.
  • 2. I think people should be angry at things that are worthy of anger. Injustice is outrageous and deserves outrage.
  • 3. The anger of a person who is strong can always bide its time.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. It is a matter of public shame that while we have now commemorated our hundredth anniversary not one in every ten children attending Public schools throughout the colonies is acquainted with a single historical fact about Australia.
  • 2. I have for some time urged that a nuclear abolition summit to mark the effective end of the nuclear era be convened in Hiroshima and Nagasaki on the 70th anniversary of the bombings of those cities with the participation of national leaders and representatives of global civil society.

5 Architecture

  • 1. My buildings will be my legacy… they will speak for me long after I'm gone.
  • 2. Architecture is involved with the world but at the same time it has a certain autonomy. This autonomy cannot be explained in terms of traditional logic because the most interesting parts of the work are non-verbal. They operate within the terms of the work like any art.
  • 3. Architecture is basically a container of something. I hope they will enjoy not so much the teacup but the tea.
