1 Age

  • 1. Age puzzles me. I thought it was a quiet time. My seventies were interesting and fairly serene but my eighties are passionate. I grow more intense as I age.
  • 2. Losing both parents at a young age gave me a sense that you can't really control life – so you'd better live it while it's here. I stopped believing in a storybook existence a long time ago. All you can do is push in a direction and see what comes of it.
  • 3. What makes old age hard to bear is not the failing of one's faculties mental and physical but the burden of one's memories.

2 Amazing

  • 1. I like what I see now in China but I think the Japanese are a step ahead into craziness and weirdness. I go to galleries there that are the size of a New York elevator and every time I'm surprised by the amazing things I find. I really hope I'll be able to promote some of these artists to show their work in the West.
  • 2. When you think of what Americans accomplished building these amazing cities and all the good it's done in the world it's kind of disheartening to hear so much hatred of America not just from abroad but internally.

3 Anger

  • 1. The Anger Management Tour was another beautiful thing. I loved that tour.
  • 2. Men make angry music and it's called rock-and-roll women include anger in their vocabulary and suddenly they're angry and militant.
  • 3. And I think there's something about conservatives frankly – and the Left when it comes to their channels of persuasion are unpersuasive. They are most of them are hate-filled obscenity-clogged rants of anger and hatred.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. Experts on romance say for a happy marriage there has to be more than a passionate love. For a lasting union they insist there must be a genuine liking for each other. Which in my book is a good definition for friendship.
  • 2. Since I wrote to you last we have got our chapel beautifully lighted with gas and have had our anniversary.

5 Architecture

  • 1. The interior of the house personifies the private world the exterior of it is part of the outside world.
  • 2. I went to school for engineering I studied jazz. So I always had this kind of creative side and technical side and I thought architecture might be the way to combine them so I went to architecture school in New York.
  • 3. Vitality is radiated from exceptional art and architecture.
