As a privileged survivor of the First World War I hope I may be allowed to interject here a deeply felt tribute to those who were not fortunate enough to succeed but who shared the signal honor of trying to the last to salvage peace.

  • 1. Alexander at the head of the world never tasted the true pleasure that boys of his own age have enjoyed at the head of a school.

2 Amazing

  • 1. With fitness I do Bikrams hot yoga. The gym that I have in my building is amazing. I love to do cardio and weights there.

I go to galleries there that are the size of a New York elevator and every time I'm surprised by the amazing things I find. I really hope I'll be able to promote some of these artists to show their work in the West.

3 Anger

  • 1. Something my mum taught me years and years and years ago is life's just too short to carry around a great bucket-load of anger and resentment and bitterness and hatreds and all that sort of stuff.
  • 2. Insurgents have capitalized on popular resentment and anger towards the United States and the Iraqi government to build their own political financial and military support and the faith of Iraqi citizens in their new government has been severely undermined.
  • 3. When someone says that I'm angry it's actually a compliment. I have not always been direct with my anger in my relationships which is part of why I'd write about it in my songs because I had such fear around expressing anger as a woman.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. Last week the House of Representatives passed a resolution honoring the victims and heroes of September 11th. As we commemorate the anniversary of 9-11 we must also remember that the threat is still very real today.
  • 2. Why does a woman work ten years to change a man's habits and then complain that he's not the man she married?
  • 3. On this important anniversary we must remember that while we have come a long way in eliminating barriers critical work remains to ensure all Americans can live up to their full potential.

5 Architecture

  • 1. I believe very strongly and have fought since many years ago – at least over 30 years ago – to get architecture not just within schools but architecture talked about under history geography science technology art.
  • 2. One of my favorite vacation places is Miami because of the people the water and the beach – of course – and the architecture on Miami Beach is so wonderful.
  • 3. The job of buildings is to improve human relations: architecture must ease them not make them worse.
