2 Amazing

  • 1. When you're a stay-at-home mother you have to pretend it's really boring but it's not. It's enriching and fulfilling and an amazing experience. And then when you're a working mother you have to pretend that you feel guilty all day long.
  • 2. You know 'The Golden Girls' was a very unusual show to start on. I was young and it was a show about old people and it was a very traditional show but it was also an amazing training ground for a joke-writer. It forced me to learn those skills.

3 Anger

  • 1. For a long time I thought I could deal with my anger and hostility on my own. But I couldn't. I denied that it had affected me and yet I was so frantic on the inside with other people: I needed to be constantly reassured.
  • 2. What if you threw a protest and no one showed up? The lack of angst and anger and emotion is a big positive.
  • 3. I accrued anger from people's low opinion of me and my work and for the work I might be capable of.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. The chances of a reunion now are less likely. I was thinking of having a 40th anniversary of the band but now they are really another band so it's all a bit weird.
  • 2. So I think you have to marry for the right reasons and marry the right person.
  • 3. I think you have to be willing to take a bullet for somebody if you're going to stand up there take your vows and be married to them for the rest of your life.

5 Architecture

  • 1. Architecture aims at Eternity.
  • 2. At this present time matter is still the best way to think of architecture but I'm not so sure for very long. The computer is radicalizing the way we think about our world.
  • 3. I would like my architecture to inspire people to use their own resources to move into the future.
