1 Age

  • 1. The older I grow the more I distrust the familiar doctrine that age brings wisdom.
  • 2. Canada has a passive-aggressive culture with a lot of sarcasm and righteousness. That went with my weird messianic complex. The ego is a fascinating monster. I was taught from a young age that I had to serve so that turned into me thinking I had to save the planet.
  • 3. No sex age or condition is above or below the absolute necessity of modesty but without it one vastly beneath the rank of man.

2 Amazing

  • 1. Youth is an amazing thing: I think back on when we did The Lost Boys and I didn't think I could do anything wrong.
  • 2. Once the kids are in school it's amazing what you can do.
  • 3. When things happen – you ask yourself why today why not tomorrow why not yesterday? That's the most amazing thing about time.

3 Anger

  • 1. My dear brothers take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen slow to speak and slow to become angry for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.
  • 2. I'm not as angry as I used to be. But I can get in touch with that anger pretty quickly if I feel my space is being invaded or somebody is not treating me with the respect that I think I want.
  • 3. I'm not someone who feels anger on particular issues.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. Marriage is a coming together for better or for worse hopefully enduring and intimate to the degree of being sacred.
  • 2. We can't forget what happened on May 4th 1970 when four students gave up their lives because they had the American constitutional right of peaceful protest. They gave up their lives. And to sing that song in that spot on that anniversary was very emotional for us.
  • 3. Chains do not hold a marriage together. It is threads hundreds of tiny threads which sew people together through the years.

5 Architecture

  • 1. To work in architecture you are so much involved with society with politics with bureaucrats. It's a very complicated process to do large projects. You start to see the society how it functions how it works. Then you have a lot of criticism about how it works.
  • 2. Any work of architecture that has with it some discussion some polemic I think is good. It shows that people are interested people are involved.
  • 3. I am but an architectural composer.
