Obviously the anti-ERA people are tickled about my ordeal because it proves that the ERA breaks up families. When they point out that feminism is a dangerous thing I just say marriage is pretty precarious too.

In response to our fast-food culture a 'slow food' movement appeared. Out of hurried parenthood a move toward slow parenting could be growing. With vital government supports for state-of-the-art public child care and paid parental leave maybe we would be ready to try slow love and marriage.

Traditional marriage between a man and a woman has been a cornerstone of our society for generations. If we are going to change that it ought to be done by the will of the people.

  • 1. My dad encouraged us to fail. Growing up he would ask us what we failed at that week. If we didn't have something he would be disappointed. It changed my mindset at an early age that failure is not the outcome failure is not trying. Don't be afraid to fail.
  • 2. I remember when I was 6 years old and my brother used to go seek out guys that were 13 to come over and play football against me while he was the 'permanent quarterback.' I didn't know exactly what the age difference was but I was already playing against older guys.

2 Amazing

  • 1. We shouldn't feel restricted by our sexuality and our sexuality doesn't have to be a cultural choice. That's an amazing variety of music within those five main performers.
  • 2. Motion capture is amazing. I prefer it. You wear a 'Power Ranger'-esque suit you have tape balls on you you have 60 cameras around you capturing your every movement and there's no hair no makeup.
  • 3. I still think that movies are amazing I respect actors and directors.

3 Anger

  • 1. I'm generally quite an angry person and I like to channel my anger toward something creative.
  • 2. A wonderful emotion to get things moving when one is stuck is anger. It was anger more than anything else that had set me off roused me into productivity and creativity.
  • 3. What if you threw a protest and no one showed up? The lack of angst and anger and emotion is a big positive.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. I was always very grateful to 'em and am grateful to 'em now. I went back a couple of years ago and did their 20th anniversary show. But the longer I stayed on Hee Haw the worse things got for me musically.
  • 2. So while an incredible amount of progress has been made on this fifth anniversary I wanted to come here and tell the people of this city directly: My administration is going to stand with you – and fight alongside you – until the job is done. Until New Orleans is all the way back all the way.
  • 3. Since I wrote to you last we have got our chapel beautifully lighted with gas and have had our anniversary.

5 Architecture

  • 1. Every one who has a heart however ignorant of architecture he may be feels the transcendent beauty and poetry of the mediaeval churches.
  • 2. An architect's most useful tools are an eraser at the drafting board and a wrecking bar at the site.
  • 3. The architecture profession has lost a lot of its integrity especially in the USA. The general architect here has no scruples no ambitions.
