  • 1. When I was younger my whole sense of self-worth was based on whether or not I was working which was awful. And I had a baby at 20 years old so it wasn't just about me. At around the age of 30 there was a stretch where I wasn't working – certainly not on anything I liked anyway – and I started to do other things.
  • 2. Your body actually reminds you about your age and your injuries – the body has a stronger memory than your mind.
  • 3. Maybe it is something to do with age but I have become fonder of poetry than of prose.

2 Amazing

  • 1. My 'Movember' moustache was never going to be as big as Nigel Mansell's but I tried my best. The amazing thing is that when you try to grow a moustache you notice everyone else's. There are some amazing moustaches on the grid.
  • 2. The overall physical demand that Iraq has is pretty amazing. It's 130 degrees and the soldiers are carrying about 100 pounds of extra gear. It's a pretty rigorous schedule and routine for them.

3 Anger

  • 1. Holding on to anger resentment and hurt only gives you tense muscles a headache and a sore jaw from clenching your teeth. Forgiveness gives you back the laughter and the lightness in your life.
  • 2. Well all comedy starts with anger. You get angry and its never for a good reason right? You know its not a good reason. And then you try and work it from there.
  • 3. I'm generally quite an angry person and I like to channel my anger toward something creative.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. A lot of good love can happen in ten years.
  • 2. 1 month ago the American people stopped to remember the third anniversary of the beginning of the Iraq war. We thought first and foremost of the selflessness patriotism and heroism by our troops our National Guard and Reserves.
  • 3. And this year is going to be the 25th anniversary of the 17-0 team the only undefeated season.

5 Architecture

  • 1. In my early 20s I was so miserable doing construction I wanted something that paid money. I liked nice stuff. I liked cars and architecture and things that cost money. I wanted to not swing a hammer and make money… and not do stuff that was dirty. I attempted to get into comedy. I started to do stand-up but I wasn't very good at it.
  • 2. Rationalism is the enemy of art though necessary as a basis for architecture.
  • 3. I was planning to go into architecture. But when I arrived architecture was filled up. Acting was right next to it so I signed up for acting instead.
