1 Age

  • 1. We have become a society that can't self-correct that can't address its obvious problems that can't pull out of its nosedive. And so to our list of disasters let us add this fourth entry: we have entered an age of folly that – for all our Facebooking and the twittling tweedle-dee-tweets of the twitterati – we can't wake up from.

  • 3. You get to a certain age where you prepare yourself for happiness. Sometimes you never remember to actually get happy.

2 Amazing

  • 1. It is spectacular. From about five minutes in when we knew for sure that we were going to have the weather to go the smile on my face just got bigger and bigger and I was just beaming through the whole launch. I mean it is just an amazing ride.

3 Anger

4 Anniversary

  • 1. We had a relationship that lasted 44 years. Herbert and I lived together 10 years before we were married. He always gave me a little heart for whatever anniversary.
  • 2. I was always very grateful to 'em and am grateful to 'em now. I went back a couple of years ago and did their 20th anniversary show. But the longer I stayed on Hee Haw the worse things got for me musically.
  • 3. The concept of two people living together for 25 years without a serious dispute suggests a lack of spirit only to be admired in sheep.

5 Architecture

  • 1. Architecture can't fully represent the chaos and turmoil that are part of the human personality but you need to put some of that turmoil into the architecture or it isn't real.
  • 2. But those musics do not address the larger kind of architecture in time that classical music does whatever each one of us knows that classical music must mean.
  • 3. Architecture in general is frozen music.
